1. How did you and your partner decide when you were ready to start trying to conceive?
From the get go DH knew I was all about having children. I have just been the maternal type. My dolls were always my favorite toys when I was little. I had every accessory one would need to be a good mommy to my Cabbage Patch dolls. Brass cradle, one of those chairs that attaches to the table, a baby chair, a real umbrella stroller, real bottles, real diapers, real baby clothes, etc. I thought I was the best little mommy with the real items, not the silly ones made for dolls :o)
Anyway, I had always talked about children with DH. I had a grand plan you know be married and have one kid by the time I was 25 and be finished with having kids when I was 30-ish. When you are 20 you think you have the best plans, right? Well, we didn't even get married until I was 29. 9 years of dating! So, my plan didn't really happen! DH is one to make sure he is financially ready for things, so we had thought after we bought our house we would wait a year and a half or so before we started TTC.
Being a teacher, we had always thought having a baby due in May or June was best. This would allow me to take the least amount of time off, but still get a lot of time with baby before school started again. So, April 2011 I went off the pill and we used condoms until our 2nd anniversary (July 2011). We figured that getting off BC would take a bit for me to get regular again and be ready for conceiving. I remember being so excited when we were first trying. It was exciting to think "oooohhhh we are going to have a baby!!". Hmmmm, no baby yet!
